Artist's Statement

Always intrigued by ideas of perception and the cosmos, my painting tends toward a lyrical abstraction.
Where there is transformation, I find a place of risk, vitality, playfulness and a kind of poetry of the edge, which I wish to explore. Usually my medium is oil or acrylic or watercolour, often on a sculpted ground.
….On the edge of balance, rhythm begins. On the edge of quiet is the beginning of song. My work celebrates this mystery.
