Lisa Solonynko is an award winning professional photographer currently working in Petawawa, Ontario, Canada.
Throughout her photographic career, Lisa’s passion remains creating images that are dynamic and thought provoking. Whether shooting in exotic places, like Egypt, or in her own backyard, she strives to discover new vantage points and perspectives that will intrigue her audience.
When reflecting on what it means to be a photographer in the 21st century she explains, “We live in a fantastic time, photographically. Technology is progressing so quickly and is so powerful. Coupling emerging technology with our natural environment provides so many possibilities for people to view and enjoy photography”.
Lisa's main inspiration comes from light and shadow. Whether presenting itself abstractly, or within a photo-realistic scenario, Lisa strives to capture its nuances. This is where her versatility shines through.
In addition to her fine art photography, Lisa’s images have appeared in many publications and media campaigns including: King’s College (UK), Pinpoint Medical, Simon Fraser University, and University of Exeter (UK). Among her other projects, Lisa is currently a regular technique contributor to Photocomment magazine.
With great attention to detail and incredibly high standards, Lisa prints her own work. This allows for customizing pieces to fit the needs of her clients. Specialized fine art papers add dimension and life to every piece that leaves her studio. Lisa insists on only using archival materials that will last for generations. For Lisa, fine craftsmanship does not end when the image is complete. Just as much care must be taken when choosing mediums and producing the final piece.
